Granarolo is a limited company whose shares are controlled 77.48% by the cooperative Granlatte, 19.78% by Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. and the remaining 2.74% by Cooperlat.

A cooperative of more than 600 producers controls the limited company: 77.48% of the Group in fact are controlled by the Granlatte cooperative.

19.78% is owned by the shareholder Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A., the remnant by 2.74% Cooperlat.


As industrial leader Granarolo S.p.A.:

  • transforms raw milk: bought from Granlatte as well as in reduced form on the domestic and foreign market;
  • determines the industrial policies of transformation for itself and the other companies of the Group;
  • directs the investment choices and patrimony renewal;

As commercial group leader Granarolo S.p.A. has already adopted since a long time one strong policy of valorisation of its own image as it’s able to transmit to the consumer the own characteristic values: quality, freshness and products safety.

As Group subholding, Granarolo S.p.A. plays also a coordination role and of general direction of the industrial, commercial managerial and financial policies. The normative and economic conditions of such role are identified within the regulations “intercompany”, approved yearly by each decisional bodies of the Group’s companies.
